One of the key features that will appeal to a lot of us is that the treadmill folds, meaning storing the fitness machine is much easier. There are also handy wheels to move it around once folded, and does not require too much effort. There are also plenty of other features that make this a stand out home treadmill. For example, the MP3 input and speakers, meaning you can connect your ipod, phone, or other portable music devices while you work out.
Out of the box – Setting up the York 220 Treadmill
When you get your treadmill home it won’t be ready to use right out of the box. There is a little assembly needed, but this is nothing to be worried about. Below is a list of the separate items that come with the York Perform 220 Treadmill:
The main assembly steps are to fix the upright posts into the main frame, and then to fix the control console to the upright posts. It is always recommended that you use the treadmill on a flat, level surface. Also, the very first time you power up let the treadmill run without getting onto it. Then check the running mat to make sure it is the correct tightness and that it is running straight and smooth.
The fantastic folding feature of this treadmill is very easy to implement. All you do is simply lift the main running deck until you hear a click, and after that it will be securely held in an upright position. To fold the treadmill back down ready for use, take the weight of the running deck, and step on the release pedal. Then all you do is guide the running deck slowly to the floor.
When the York Perform 220 Treadmill is folded up and ready to store, it can be easily moved since it is equipped with 2 non-marking wheels. All you do is stand in front of the treadmill square on and tilt it towards you. Then you use the handrails to push the treadmill to the desired location.
The York Perform exercise machine comes with a safety key, which must be fixed into position otherwise the treadmill will not turn on. This has 2 main uses. One is so the machine turns off and stops immediately if you fall while on it, and the second is to stop young children using the treadmill when not supervised. So, for these two safety features to function, you should attached one end of the safety key to your closes while running, so that if you fall it will pull the safety key out of the treadmill. You should always remove the safety key and store out of reach of young children when you are not using the fitness machine.
