This treadmill is what they call a manual treadmill, so please do not confuse it with the ones that you generally see in fitness gyms. The V Fit MTT1 Mini Manual treadmill does not plug into the mains and is powered purely by the person walking or jogging on it. It is an entry level fitness machine that is suited for those that want to get a little more light exercise from their home. The price of this exercise machine is around the £100 mark, and a lot cheaper that the motorised treadmills that most of us are more familiar with.
The is a very sturdy treadmill and folds so that it takes up less room and can be better stored away when not in use. The robust steel frame is coated in a chip resistant epoxy powder to ensure it looks great and is rust resistant. The running belt is approximately 1m in length with a width of 32cm. While not a huge area it is more than sufficient for the walking or light jogging activities that you will be using it for. Even though this is an entry level machine this V Fit still comes with a 4 function LCD screen where you can monitor calories burnt, distance travelled, current speed, and workout time. You can set an incline, but because it is not motorised at all you cannot vary this without stopping and manually changing the incline.
Again, just to be clear, this is a manual treadmill and not a motorised treadmill so it is better suited for light exercise rather than more demanding exercise. During your workouts you will most likely need to hold onto the side handlebars at all times. Users say that they can get up to fast speeds if they push this treadmill, but it is actually much more demanding that normal running outside, although they do say it feels like it is a lot softer on their joints.
The treadmill takes around 10 minutes to assemble although some users have reported that it can be a bit tricky. However it gets generally positive reviews, especially if you are fully aware that you are getting a manual machine that is best suited for power walking or light jogging. Be prepared to sweat though, as users agree that this manual device pushes you harder than standard running or running on a motorised treadmill.
